Sync your thoughts and find the same word!

Mind Meld strips party games down to a single question: do you think like anyone else in the room? There's no drawing, no voting, no clue-giving role — just two prompt words and a blind, simultaneous guess at what connects them, repeated until at least two people land on the exact same answer.

🧠 Co-op 🏃 Quick 2+ players

Objective

Everyone tries to connect two prompts with the same single word. The moment any two players match, they win the round together.

How to play

  1. All players see the same two prompt words (e.g. 'Coffee' and 'Morning').
  2. Simultaneously and secretly, each player types a single connecting word. No peeking at the others until you submit.
  3. The instant any two players type the exact same word, the round ends and those two win. If everyone answers without a match, the submitted words become the new prompts and another round begins.

Scoring

Only the matching pair scores: 6 points for a match on step 1, one less for each extra step, down to 1. Everyone else scores 0 that round.

Example round

  1. The prompts are 'Coffee' and 'Morning'.
  2. Ana types 'wake', Ben types 'routine', Cleo types 'energy', and Dan types 'wake'.
  3. Ana and Dan both typed 'wake' — the instant the match is detected, the round ends for everyone.
  4. Since nobody else matched, Ben and Cleo's answers become the two new prompts for the next round: 'routine' and 'energy'.
  5. Ana and Dan split the round's points for being the matching pair; Ben and Cleo score nothing for that round despite submitting real answers.

Strategy tips

Best with

Works with as few as 2 players, which makes it one of the few games in the app suited to just a couple killing time together, though it scales fine into a bigger group where more people means more chances someone shares your instinct — good for a video call, a car ride, or a quiet moment at a bigger party.

Variations

FAQ

What happens if three or more players all type the same word?

The round still ends the instant a match is detected among any two players, so once two answers line up the round is over regardless of what everyone else typed.

Do the prompt words ever repeat?

Only if a round fails to produce a match — in that case the submitted words themselves become the next round's two prompts, so the pair keeps changing based on what the group just typed.

Is there a way to see what other players typed before I submit?

No — every submission is simultaneous and secret; you can't see anyone else's word until after everyone has locked theirs in for the round.
